ในช่วง 3 ปีที่ผ่านมา (2564 – 2566) มหาวิทยาลัยได้ดำเนินการลดพื้นที่จอดรถส่วนบุคคลอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อส่งเสริมการใช้การขนส่งสาธารณะและยานพาหนะปลอดมลพิษ รวมถึงลดการพึ่งพายานพาหนะส่วนตัว นโยบายดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความพยายามในการปรับปรุงความยั่งยืนและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม โดยในปี 2564 พื้นที่จอดรถส่วนบุคคลครอบคลุมประมาณ 40,000 ตารางเมตร หรือคิดเป็น 8.7% ของพื้นที่ทั้งหมด ต่อมาในปี 2565 มหาวิทยาลัยได้ลดพื้นที่จอดรถยนต์ลง 5% เหลือประมาณ 38,000 ตารางเมตร หรือ 8.3% ของพื้นที่ทั้งหมด พร้อมทั้งเริ่มขยายพื้นที่สำหรับจอดจักรยานและรถจักรยานยนต์ปลอดมลพิษมากขึ้น
การลดพื้นที่จอดรถยังคงดำเนินต่อไปในปี 2566 โดยลดลงอีก 10% ทำให้พื้นที่จอดรถส่วนบุคคลเหลือประมาณ 34,200 ตารางเมตร คิดเป็น 7.6% ของพื้นที่ทั้งหมด การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ยังรวมถึงการเปลี่ยนพื้นที่บางส่วนไปใช้สำหรับจัดสวน เพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียว และจัดสรรที่จอดสำหรับรถไฟฟ้าและจักรยานให้มากขึ้น ส่งผลให้สภาพแวดล้อมภายในวิทยาเขตมีความยั่งยืนและสวยงามยิ่งขึ้น นโยบายดังกล่าวไม่เพียงแต่ช่วยลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก แต่ยังสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายของมหาวิทยาลัยในการเป็นผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนและการจัดการทรัพยากรอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
Over the past three years (2021 – 2023), the university has consistently reduced the area allocated for personal vehicle parking to promote public transportation and eco-friendly vehicles, while also decreasing reliance on private cars. This policy is part of the university’s efforts to enhance sustainability and environmental conservation. In 2021, personal parking areas covered about 40,000 square meters, accounting for 8.7% of the total campus area. By 2022, the university reduced parking spaces by 5%, leaving around 38,000 square meters, or 8.3% of the total area, while expanding facilities for bicycles and electric motorcycles.
The reduction continued into 2023, with a further decrease of 10%, bringing the total personal parking area down to approximately 34,200 square meters, or 7.6% of the campus area. The reclaimed space was repurposed for gardens, green areas, and additional parking for electric vehicles and bicycles, leading to a more sustainable and aesthetically pleasing campus environment. This initiative not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also aligns with the university’s goal of being a leader in sustainability and efficient resource management.
